Louise Bourgeois

"Once I was beset by anxiety, but I pushed away the fear by studying the sky, determining when the moon would come out and where the sun would appear in the morning." Louise Bourgeois.

Django Reinhardt - J'attenderai Swing 1939

This is so beautiful. Django Reinhardt and Stefan Grapelli. Watch it all the way through. It just gets better!

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

As usual Robin Wright Penn, is understated yet so powerful in her role as Pippa Lee. It's so rare not to be disappointed when seeing a film after having read the book, but in this case it was just a perfect adaptation of Rebecca Miller's novel, probably because it was adapted and directed by Rebecca Miller herself. An interesting story, beautifully shot, sensitively acted. There's a great cast in this film, including Alan Arkin, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves but thankfully not a hint of 'Hollywood' about it! Really worth seeing. Watch the trailer here and an interview with Rebecca miller here.

A good way to start the day...
