Tudor portraits at the National Portrait Gallery
We went to the National Portrait Gallery to see the Irving Penn exhibition and ended up in the Tudor Gallery. It was such a lovely surprise. The paintings are absolutely exquisite. The detail, the colours, the amazing styling. Definitely worth a visit.

beautiful! so classic..these permanent displays get forgotten in favour of the temporary exhibitions. you've reminded me of their beauty and importance! thanks.
ReplyDeleteWe've reminded ourselves too! It was only by chance that we found ourselves in that part of the gallery. Now we plan to investigate further. Next time the National Gallery.
