What style!

What a face!

We're back!

Sorry we've been missing for a while. We've been in Brasil staying in Trancoso, which is just the most amazing place ever! Everything about it is pretty much perfect. The people are wonderful and full of smiles. The beaches are long and deep and the sea is pretty calm. The area where we stayed is called the Quadrado. It's just a small area of grass surrounded by little painted houses that were originally lived in by the local fishermen. Some of the original residents still live there which is so nice, but there are also lovely restaurants, little hotels and some shops. Everything is kept in the original style. Horses graze on the grass, people play football and school children come to play in their break time.  Standing proudly at the end of the grass is the second oldest church in Brasil. All of this overlooks the sea. We stayed in a hotel called Jacare do Brasil, which was recommended by Brazil for Insiders. We had such a lovely time there and can't wait to go back.

Donna Summer

The wonderful Donna Summer died today aged 63. Her music brings back so many memories. She was the disco queen! See this video.

It's been over a year since we posted about the documentary 'Bill Cunningham New York' and finally it came to London. It's totally amazing and so inspiring! What an extraordinary man he is. For those of you you haven't yet seen it, please try to get hold of the dvd. I can't recommend it highly enough! if you didn't see the post last year then see the trailer here.

For six hours each day, Bermuda's Johnny Barnes stands at a busy traffic intersection telling all who pass that he loves them. HIs delight and sincerity are infectious and the people of the island love him back. His service is a simple reminder of the power of happiness and loving kindness to change any day for the better. Watch the video here and you'll most certainly be moved.
